I have heard, read or witnessed suicide deaths before but it had never happened to a close friend or relative.But the recent death of my friend who chose to take away his life has had a big effect on my life. It has taught me a very important lesson that i will try not to forget. Sam had just graduated from one of the constituent colleges of the University of Malawi with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a very intelligent friend who i adored since our primary school days. He was just brilliant beyond explanation. He got born again in secondary and was active in youth fellowships. ANGER

The phone rung three times in her office and she picked it up. At the other end of the line, a strange female voice answered, “please rush to Queens Hospital your daughter is here and she is seriously injured!” Before she could ask who she was talking to the line was cut. In her confused state, she rushed to the hospital and when she got there, she only found a corpse of her daughter lying on the mortuary bed. She died just a few minutes before she arrived. Liz was her beloved second-born child who only turned sixteen a few days before she died the most horrified and gruesome death. She had a deep cut in her skull and another one on the left side of her face. The beloved daughter was hacked to death by the very same person who was supposed to be her protector, provider, and shield. She lost her life in the hands of her own father! Upon seeing the body of her dead child she collapsed and fainted consequently she stayed in the hospital for the next two weeks and she missed the fune...

WINNERS DON'T QUIT

I like winners. They have very rare qualities which I admire one of which is that they don't quit. In tough situations, they still move forward to accomplish their goals. Amidst strong opposition, they find their way and win. When all their friends are giving up, throwing the towel, they push forward. In football, golf or tennis, they use the same pitch, rules and are controlled by the same referee but they emerge winners. In life they meet the same problems we encounter every day; sicknesses, losing loved ones, rejections, marital issues yet they come out clean. At the workplace, they follow the same company rules and do everything else as commanded. Yet when all of you are complaining, changing jobs and backbiting, they are there succeeding. Promotions, awards, and recognitions come their way. They are always confident about whatever they are doing. They believe in what they do. Think twice if you feel like quitting. Success does not come on a silver platter. Go for it!! ...
